FootprintLab held rich carbon data behind an API and a sales-led demo. Nucleotto built a public data explorer, a licence-aware customer portal, and an admin panel. Customers now explore, download, and interrogate the data themselves. FootprintLab sees how they use it.
FootprintLab ran an API-only product behind a static website. The carbon data was rich. Access ran through API integration for larger enterprise customers, or through a sales-led demo.
Most data reached customers as an Excel file, an API key, or a screen-share. A person had to show the value before anyone could see it.

The data was strong. The way in was too narrow. Build a product around the data, so customers reach it without a technical integration first.
Inside the product: the data, the API, the demo, and who it could reach.
